Stats

From Temtem Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

Stats are the different elements that determine the combat performance of a Temtem, and also commonly refer to the values of such elements. There are 7 stats in Temtem, which are HP, Stamina, Speed, Attack, Special Attack, Defense and Special Defense, and each one performs a different role during combat. Some stats are compared between attacking and defending Temtem and used in calculations to determine the amount of damage that a Technique may inflict.

Stats grow independently whenever a Temtem levels up, and this growth is dependent on a fixed value that is specific to each species of Temtem. The growth is also determined by a controllable factor called Training Value (TV), which may increase for one stat or another by defeating other Temtem, and by a random factor called Single Value (SV), which is set at the moment of taming an untamed Temtem.

The 7 Stats[edit | edit source]

The seven stats HP, Speed, Attack, Special Attack, Defense, Special Defense and Stamina are shared among all Temtem Species and are used in combat to determine their health pool, the damage they deal or receive, the order by which they perform their Techniques and how many Techniques they can perform.

HP[edit | edit source]

HP stands for Hit Points and it is the stat that is used to determine the amount of health that a Temtem has. When the HP of any Temtem reaches zero during combat, it is considered exhausted and cannot fight anymore. It is lowered in combat by being hit by damaging Techniques.

ATK[edit | edit source]

A Temtem's Physical Attack; this represents the Temtem's power using Physical Techniques and is used when determining the damage delivered to enemy Temtem when the Temtem is using a physical technique.

SPATK[edit | edit source]

A Temtem's Special Attack; this represents the Temtem's power using Special Techniques and is used when determining the damage delivered to enemy Temtem when the Temtem is using a special technique.

DEF[edit | edit source]

A Temtem's Physical Defense; this represents the Temtem's endurance when receiving a Physical Technique and is used when determining the damage received from an enemy Temtem's Physical Technique.

SPDEF[edit | edit source]

A Temtem's Special Defense; this represents the Temtem's endurance when receiving a Special Technique and is used when determining the damage received from an enemy Temtem's Special Technique.

SPD[edit | edit source]

Speed determines the order in which Temtems will use Techniques in a turn. In battle, Speed can be altered with a Technique's Priority. Priority moves will greatly improve or reduce Speed for that attack only. Some high-Priority Techniques include Finbeat, Crystal Dust, or Peck. Leveling up also improves Speed naturally, or you can improve the speed stat by increasing your Temtem’s TVs in the speed stat.

STA[edit | edit source]

Stamina determines how many Techniques a Temtem can perform during battle. It is presented as a blue bar placed underneath a Temtems HP bar and above the EXP bar. Unlike the HP bar, the Stamina bar completely refills at the end of every battle.

In Temtem, every Technique has a certain Stamina cost that is subtracted from a Temtem's Stamina on use. Stronger Techniques will cost more Stamina, allowing for fewer uses and vice-versa. If the Stamina bar is completely drained, using Techniques will cause the user to take self-damage due to Overexertion (see below). Temtems recover a small amount of Stamina at the end of every turn, but can also be ordered to Rest, recovering even more Stamina while performing no Technique for that turn.

The Stamina stat can affect HP as well. When a Temtem uses a Technique that costs more Stamina than it has available, the Temtem will Overexert and lose some HP proportional to the difference between the stamina cost of the Technique and the Temtem's remaining Stamina, 2 HP for every stamina Overexerted.

Stats Growth[edit | edit source]

Whenever a Temtem levels up, their different stats grow independently from one another and according to a formula that depends on three factors: Base Stats, Training Values (TVs) and Single Values (SVs).

Training Values (TVs)[edit | edit source]

Main article: Training Values

Training Values are controllable factors that grow individually for each of the 7 Stats. There is a maximum amount of TVs that can be earned per Stat (500) and in total (1000), so the player must choose which Stat they're going to improve. This value doesn't change when the Temtem evolves.
Training Values are given to the Temtem in one of two ways: beating wild Temtem (either by knockout or capture) or by feeding your Temtem special fruit items. The latter option also allows you to decrease your Temtem's TV as well.
A list of what Training Values each Temtem gives off when caught or defeated can be seen in the link here.

Single Values (SVs)[edit | edit source]

Single Values are uncontrollable factors that can only be changed by rare items such as Telomere Hack - SPD, ranging in value between 1 and 50. Unlike TV, this value can be maxed for all stats.
For wild Temtem, these stats are randomly generated. A Temtem born through breeding will inherit SV from its parents and may achieve the highest possible SV in all stats through selective breeding and inheritance.
Luma Temtem always have three maxed out SVs at minimum. Starter Temtem and Temtem received from other characters have fixed SVs.

Base Stats[edit | edit source]

The Base Stats of a Temtem are unique for each species, and are the main factor when determining how a specific stat will grow when leveling. Whenever a Temtem evolves, its Base Stats also change, which usually means that the Temtem gets stronger.

Stat Total[edit | edit source]

A Temtem's Stat Total is the culmination of the three components mentioned above (Base, SV and TV). These are the actual numbers used in calculations during battle. The formulas for these are as follows:

HP:
(\tfrac{((1.5 * Base) + SV + \tfrac{TV}{5}) * Level}{80}) + (\tfrac{SV * Base * Level}{20000}) + Level + 15

STA:
(\tfrac{((1.5 * Base) + SV + \tfrac{TV}{5}) * \tfrac{Level}{2}}{100}) + (\tfrac{SV * Base * Level}{25000}) + 20

All other stats:
(\tfrac{((1.5 * Base) + SV + \tfrac{TV}{5}) * Level}{100}) + (\tfrac{SV * Base * Level}{25000}) + 10

In battle, a Temtem's offensive, defensive and speed stats may be raised or lowered as an effect of different techniques by up to 5 stages[1]. This cannot be altered by switching out the affected Temtem.

Raised Stats - Gain an additional 50% of their initial value per stage, meaning they can be boosted by 50% / 100% / 150% / 200% / 250% when raised by 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 stages, respectively[1].

Raised Stats Multiplier = (2 + Stage) / 2

Lowered Stats - Are lowered by an increasing factor per stage. A lowered stat will become 67% / 50% / 40% / 33% / 28% of its initial value when lowered by 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 stages, respectively[1].

Lowered Stats Multiplier = 2 / (2 + Stage)

Note: A good rule of thumb is that lowered stats are a reciprocal of raised stats.
